The Sims 4

I revamped how information about Sims' relationships is shown to a player in The Sims 4. Specifically what info players see when Sims have conversations, or when they mouse-over a Sim for selection. Systems I developed were used for the implementation of menus to view all of a Sim's relationships. Additionally during a game jam, I successfully pitched and implemented an in-game dinosaur toy with an entirely new set of interactions from other Sims titles. This easter egg caught fans' imaginations when found in the released game.

Super excited to see that most of the work that I did on the game is still intact!!

I revamped how info about relationships between Sims is shown to player. Small differences here and there, but looks to be largely just art changes since I left. New sim relationship UI items have been added since I left (by Boxian See), so it's not all mine, but what I added is still there and the new items were built off what I worked on. My impact is visible (especially in the video above). I'm very proud of my work and the game.

While I was there the engineering team met a big deadline so we were all rewarded with a 3-day long hackathon. I successfully pitched and implemented an in-game dinosaur toy with an entirely new set of interactions from other Sims titles. I used the proprietary game editor to add the content and interactions to game.

It is by far one of the coolest things! :D
To see forum posts about the Giant Stuffed Dinosaur I got added to The Sims 4 that Sims can have a relationship with and has special interactions depending on the Sim's relationship level.
Everyone at Maxis was incredible and helped make it happen!
