RELATED WORKS

The Sims 4

I worked on the game as a Gameplay UI Programmer for Maxis during my Summer 2013 internship.

I also successfully pitched and implemented an in-game dinosaur toy with an entirely new set of interactions from other Sims titles.

Halo Channel

An interactive digital network that provides unprecedented, personalized access to the Halo Universe.

I worked on the Halo Channel as a Software Engineering Intern with a focus on user-facing features for 343 Industries in Kirkland, WA over Summer 2014.

Xbox Shell Engineering

In November 2015, I shipped the New Xbox One Experience to over 15 million consoles. In Spring 2016, I delivered features Xbox gamers craved.

I worked at Xbox as a Software Engineer doing System/App level work for about a year in 2015-2016.

EXPERIENCE

Such an honor to be a Special Thanks in the credits of Halo 5: Guardians!!! I may have only got to work on the game for a short while, but it was a blast!

I did a little bit of work on the Artificial Intelligence of your squad in campaign. Mainly their use of the new Spartan abilities. Basically if you see one of your squad members in the story mode, shoulder bash a grunt or evade a grenade thrown by an elite. I helped make that happen.

The goal of the features I worked on was to increase the perceived intellegence/swagger of AI units and to encourage players to use the new Spartan abilities. And when I played through the campaign, I thought the goals of the features were most definitely achieved. So legit.

LIFE AT 343 INDUSTRIES

In addition to my traditional work, I was a part of the Community Team's twice weekly playtest of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It was a lot of fun getting to play Halo with the people whose posts on Halo Waypoint I had been reading for years. Through the playtests I greatly improved my Halo 2 multiplayer skills and had some sureal moments. One of the highlights would definitely be my team winning Capture The Flag on Halo 2's Coagulation and the winning flag run was me driving a warthog, flag carrier in the passenger seat and Frank O'Connor (Head of the Halo Franchise) on gunner.

I also played on 343 Industries' Indoor Soccer as goalie over entire summer. The 343i team plays in a Seattle video game company league which includes Bungie, Monolith, 5th Cell, Turn10, Microsoft Studios and more. The games against Bungie were highly competitive, but a great deal of fun.
For the Summer 2014 season we tied with one of the Microsoft Studios teams for 1st place, but in the last game for the season we beat that team so in our minds we were season champions.
